Description
ABOUT THIS BEER:
This farmhouse sour ale is the ‘anytime beer’ from the Mayday range, the only beer from the range to be produced year round. It combines the characteristics of our ‘Brett C’ yeast strain, local Australian hops and a refreshing sour lactic tang.
HOW WE MAKE IT:
The Table Beer is made with a mixture of pale malts and oats then fermented with Brettanomyces Clausenni in our American Oak Foeder. We use a mixture of locally sourced hop varieties to provide a moderate to strong hop aroma and flavour, whilst aiming to keep bitterness low.
TASTING NOTES:
This latest Mayday Hills release pours an un-assuming light straw colour with a tight white head.
Don’t let these first impressions fool you though, the aroma is full, juicy and bursting with pineapple, passion fruit and citrus.
Up front it is tropical and full of hop sweetness and flavour with a full body and creamy mouthfeel. Then instantly cutting through this is the sourness, clean and acidic it cleanses the palate leaving you wanting more. At only 3.8% you can enjoy the ride again and again.
